Color
Analysis
You will need to be knowledgeable about
color when you are working with makeup, wardrobe planning, or environmental
design.
Color
Profiles offers a sequential
training system to assist you
in your study of color. The system consists of learning modules.
Module
One
Explore the concepts of color by making actual selections for people
working from photographs. You will receive eight photographs. You may
create an additional 22 photographs for your use in this project. Your
choices will be analyzed and critiqued based upon principles
of color harmony. All of the photographs will become case studies for
your future reference. Students work with a color wheel, basic color
theory of hue, value and intensity, Munsel Student Charts and paints
for initial painting exercises.
Students receive and may keep sixty Color Profile paddles. Each paddle
contains from three to six color swatches. These paddles relate to skin
tones,
skin undertones and red colors. Additional color paddles provided for
this study must be returned to Color Profiles upon completion of the
study.
Module
Two
Build upon your initial color selection process by exploring the relationships
of eye and hair color to the color selection process. More painting
is an option as well as making color selections for picture examples.
Learn how to choose neutrals for clients. Neutrals that will be studied
in this module will be various types of browns, taupes, black, grays,
and many versions of white along with appropriate metal colors.
You will assemble 40 pictures for this exercise and you will be given
guidelines for the types of picture selections to make. All of your
color choices for pictures that you have selected will be critiqued
by Color Profiles. You will retain the pictures for your case study
file. Paddles that are supplied by Color Profiles for this module must
be returned to Color Profiles after your study. However, all paddles
are available for purchase.
Module
Three

how intituitive judgements and the psychological aspects of color can
impact the process of making color choices for clients. Discover the
important impact that color harmony has when choosing colors to complete
a Color Profile. Learn the role that physical characteristics, personal
body language, voice and demeaner play in the dynamics of color selection.
Use color choices to support these individual client attributes. Explore
wardrobe and style concepts that will help you to communicate the use
of color choices that you have recommended.
